Shaking Up 5 Favorite Bourbon Cocktails with Off Hours Bourbon

Today we’ve partnered up with Off Hours Bourbon to bring you. my five favorite shaken bourbon cocktails. Off hours is a Non Distilling Producer which sources its bourbon from MGP (Midwest Grain Products) in Lawrenceburg Indiana. With a mash bill of 75% Corn 21% Rye 4% Malted Barley
and 95 proof it’s a nice and approachable whiskey. The flavor profile has a bunch of oak and opens up to nicely floral notes. Other flavors I can pick out are spearmint, little bit of coconut, peach and maybe a little chamomile. It’s certainly more unique than most MGP stock and definitely worth a try.

1 Dash Angostura Bitters

.75oz (22.5ml) Lemon Juice
.5oz (15ml) Simple Syrup
.5oz (15ml) Ginger Syrup
2-3 Strawberries
Top Soda Water
Strawberry Garnish

Bourbon Smash
2oz (60ml) Off Hours Bourbon
.75oz (22.5ml) Simple Syrup
Pinch of Fresh Mint
Half Lemon Quartered
Mint Sprig Garnish

Paper Plane
.75oz (22.5ml) Off Hours Bourbon
.75oz (22.5ml) Aperol
.75oz (22.5ml) Amaro Nonino
.75oz (22.5ml) Lemon Juice

Kentucky Mai Tai
2oz (60ml) Off Hours Bourbon
.5oz (15ml) Amaro Angelino
.75oz (22.5ml) Avocado Pit Orgeat
.375oz (11.5ml) Lime Juice
.375oz (11.5ml) Lemon Juice
2 Dashes Angostura Bitters
Lime wheel Garnish

To Make Avocado Pit Orgeat:
take 4-5 avocado pits and blend them up in a blender or food processor then transfer them to a pan and lightly toast them. They will turn bright orange and take on a very nutty smell. After this add your toasted pits to equal parts sugar and water (making a simple syrup). Leave this to infuse overnight, then give the whole shebang a blend in your blender. Strain through a nut milk bag or Chinoise. Lasts up tp three weeks in the fridge.
